Louis Barani

A 19-year veteran of the United States Navy, Louis Barani served in coastal and special warfare units and supported high ranks of naval intelligence. During Project Seabird in India, Louis managed the delivery of a $120 million security package for the new Seabird Naval Base. For the New Port Project in Qatar, Louis Barani was essential as the project manager, orchestrating deliveries of multi-million dollar security packages for Qatar Emiri Naval Forces Base and New Port, a pioneer in cutting-edge technology and an essential element of Qatar’s economic infrastructure.

In addition to his impressive military background, Louis has over two decades of experience as a worldwide risk consultant. Louis Barani is one of the top experts in security multi-risk management. Louis’ unique expertise and knowledge enable him to determine the security of his customers in the event of a broad range of threats, including chemical, biological, and radioactive weapons; hijackings; assassinations; abductions; bomb scares; and technological hazards. Once Louis completes his extensive multi-hazard analysis, proposals and solutions for reducing long-term risk are presented to the customer. Louis then collaborates with clients on the best course of action.

As part of the critical infrastructure ecosystem of America, people like Louis work in tandem with the U.S. government to recommend strategies, meet security goals, and assist with recovery objectives. Since retiring from the Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, Louis has had the opportunity to deliver Tier One vital infrastructure security techniques in accordance with government standards.

Louis attended St. John’s University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He received his Master of Applied Science from Long Island University/Homeland Security Management Institute, the country’s leading graduate program in the subject of homeland security and defense. In addition, Louis attended the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he specialized in Security Management. Louis was also certified as an Executive Protection Specialist by Executive Security International, where he learned intelligence-based close protection training.

Louis graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. The Homeland Security Management Institute at LIU awarded him a Master of Science in Homeland Security Management (HSMI). Louis is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the Security and Risk Management Association, the International Association of Emergency Managers, the Project Management Institute, and the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators.
